Private Lessons:
Private lessons are for all ages and all skill levels. I work with my students to find the right fit of repertoire, scales, and technical exercises to accomplish your goals. Play the music you love while developing your skills as a musician and learn more about yourself.
Practice Coaching:
One-on-one coaching provides structure and accountability to your practice time to maximize your potential. Think of it like a personal trainer, but for music. Coaching can offer support for students learning a new piece, preparing for an audition or performance, or needing motivation to get your instrument out.
Music Theory Tutoring:
Develop the knowledge to understand your music better through music theory tutoring. Theory tutoring can help students taking AP music theory, aural skills, composition classes, or students wanting to learn about theory to deepen their musical skills.
Where passion and drive meets joy and fulfillment.
Rachel Reid is a violinist and recent graduate of Western Washington University, where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Performance under the instruction of Laura Camacho. During her time at Western, she performed with the Symphony Orchestra, served as Concertmaster for the Symphony’s Orchestra Festival, participated in String Sinfonia, and studied chamber music under Professor Grant Donnellan. Her four-year experience performing in a dedicated string quartet fostered a lasting passion for chamber music and collaborative performance.
Rachel attended Tacoma School of the Arts for high school, where she performed in the school's premier string ensembles. She also studied with Gayane Grigoryan through the University of Puget Sound Community Music Program. As a teacher, Rachel believes that music is a lifelong journey and that students of any age can continue to learn, grow, and find joy through violin.
Building confidence in all areas of music
In my studio I believe that all students are capable of accomplishing their goals, and I am their coach to support them along the way.
Students deserve to learn music their way, not out of a book confined by rules. In my studio, I promote learning that is centered around my students and paced to their needs to become a mindful and confident player.
Learning an instrument should consist of playing music that brings you joy and keeps you wanting to learn more. My philosophy of lifelong learning is at the root of my teaching, because I believe all students have the right to express themselves and find meaning at any age.
